Alton Mill Arts Centre
East Garafraxa
A 150-year-old grist mill transformed into a living arts centre with working artist studios, galleries, and artisan shops across five floors. One of the most unique cultural destinations in the region — Torontonians make the drive specifically for this. Check the Alton Mill website for current exhibitions and market dates.
Dufferin County Forest
Mulmur
A 1,066-hectare managed forest near Mansfield with dedicated mountain biking trails, hiking paths, and horseback riding routes. Permitted events run all summer including bike races and equestrian events. Trail maps and seasonal event schedule at dufferincounty.ca/forest. Free to enter for recreational users.
Hockley Valley Resort
Mono
Dufferin County’s premier four-season destination. Golf on championship fairways, unwind at the spa, taste wines from the estate winery, and dine at the award-winning Black Birch Restaurant. Set on the Niagara Escarpment with views that stop you mid-sentence. Worth the splurge for a special occasion or a weekend away without leaving the county.

Adamo Estate Winery
PickWinery / Italian farm-to-table
Mono
Twenty-five years ago, Italian-born owner Mario Adamo had a hunch that the Hockley Valley hills might be grape country. He was right. Adamo now grows 28,000 biodynamic vines across 77 acres with real character in every bottle. The food is Italian — gnocchi, risotto, bruschetta. This summer, stay for alfresco movie nights in the vines. One of Dufferin County’s most special experiences.
Barley Vine Rail Co.
PickCraft beer / Pub / Events
Orangeville
Orangeville’s landmark dining destination set in a beautifully restored historic building. Great burgers, Ontario craft beers, and a lively atmosphere any night of the week. Also serves as a premier event venue — home to the Dufferin Film Festival’s VIP Social.
Bluebird Café & Grill
PickItalian / Wood-fired
Orangeville
Consistently Orangeville’s most talked-about restaurant. Scratch-made pasta, wood-fired pizzas with hot honey, fresh daily cheesecakes, and a menu that changes with what’s good. Family-owned — the owner visits every table. Packs out on weeknights. Reservations strongly recommended.
