Our Mission

About Dufferin Local

Dufferin Local is a family-owned business based in Orangeville, Ontario, created to help residents and visitors discover the very best that Dufferin County has to offer.

Our goal is simple: we want to bring the events, attractions, best places to eat, and trusted local businesses to life through video — giving people the opportunity to see the places they want to visit and the businesses they want to support before they even walk through the door.

We carefully select the businesses we feature, because we believe our community deserves recommendations they can trust. That's why we only feature businesses we'd confidently recommend to our own family and friends.

Whether you're looking for something to do this weekend, a great place to eat, a local attraction to explore, or a trusted business, Dufferin Local brings it all together in one place.

Discover. Support. Shop Local.

What We Cover

Who Runs This

Dufferin Local is founded and edited by Graham Bristow — a Dufferin County resident since 2002 who has been raising his family in the community since 2006. Over more than two decades here, he's built and operated multiple local businesses, and has spent the last seven years coaching youth girls hockey with the Orangeville Tigers.

Dufferin Local grew out of a simple frustration: there was no single reliable place to find what was actually happening in the county — what's on this weekend, where's worth eating, which local business to call — without jumping between a dozen Facebook groups, municipal websites, and word of mouth. So Graham built one.

Graham also runs Jagg Pro Digital, a contractor marketing agency based in Orangeville. His background in local business and digital marketing is what makes the site work — but his 20+ years as a community member is what makes the content worth reading.

Listings, event submissions, and spotlight nominations are always free.

Editorial Standards

  • We use AI to help research, write and produce our content — videos, write-ups and business profiles — so it's clearer and more entertaining. Nothing is scraped or auto-imported from other sites.
  • Facts are checked against original sources before publishing: the organisers, official municipal and venue pages, and the businesses themselves.
  • AI and outside sources both get things wrong, and events move or get cancelled. Confirm dates, times and prices with the organiser before you set out — and if you spot an error, tell us and it gets fixed.
  • Businesses don't pay for editorial coverage. Listings, spotlights, and event posts are based on community value, not payment.
  • The "brought to you by" credits on our event, attraction and restaurant pages name businesses from our free local directory. They hold free listings and are not charged for that placement — it is how we point readers toward local businesses worth knowing.
  • The editor lives in Dufferin County and has personal, first-hand knowledge of the area and its community.
  • Each section is refreshed on its own schedule — business features weekly, events and dining monthly, attractions twice a year. If something is outdated or incorrect, use the contact page and it will be fixed promptly.
  • Dufferin Local has no affiliation with Dufferin County government or any municipal body.
