Thirty-eight kilometres of former rail line, running north from Orangeville through Amaranth, Shelburne and Melancthon toward Dundalk. It is the county’s main linear corridor and the one route that physically strings several municipalities together.

Being a rail bed, it is flat — which makes it the obvious choice for a long ride, a run, or a walk with a pushchair, and the antidote to everything else on this page being escarpment. Ride an hour north and turn around, or leave a car at either end.

Access points are scattered along its length rather than concentrated at a single trailhead. Permitted uses vary by segment and by municipal bylaw, particularly for motorized vehicles in winter, so check locally if that matters to you.
