Indoor swimming in Dufferin is concentrated in one place, which is worth knowing before you drive somewhere expecting a pool.
Alder Recreation Centre — 275 Alder Street, Orangeville
The county’s main year-round aquatic centre: a 25-metre eight-lane pool plus a leisure pool with indoor splash features and slides, alongside arena and recreation facilities. Accessibility is genuinely good — accessible pool entry, a ramp into the leisure pool, and universal change facilities.
Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex — 200 Fiddle Park Lane, Shelburne
Arena and community programming, plus the north of the county’s heated outdoor pool — six lanes, running roughly mid-June to the end of August. The main summer swimming option if you are north of Orangeville.
Grand Valley & District Community Centre — 90 Main Street North
Arena ice and hall space, and the recreation hub for Grand Valley plus much of Amaranth and East Garafraxa, which rely on it rather than running their own.
Tony Rose Memorial Sports Centre — 6 Northmen Way, Orangeville
Orangeville’s second arena and civic recreation facility.
No municipal pool was found for Mono, Mulmur, Melancthon, Amaranth, East Garafraxa or Grand Valley — swimming means Alder or the CDRC.
