Outdoor Skating in Orangeville

Four free municipal outdoor rinks across town once the cold sets in — no booking, no ice fee, no arena schedule to work around.

Four locations across Orangeville·In town from Orangeville·Winter, weather permitting·Free

When it gets cold enough, the Town floods four outdoor rinks and they are free:

  • Idyllwilde Park — 55 Second Avenue
  • Lions Sports Park — 120 Diane Drive
  • Princess of Wales Park — 2 Saxon Street
  • Tony Rose — 6 Northmen Way

No booking, no ice rental, no working around an arena schedule — which is the entire appeal. Turn up with skates.

They are weather-dependent in the way outdoor ice always is: a warm week takes them out, and nobody posts a reliable daily surface report. Shelburne runs an outdoor rink at Greenwood Park on the same basis, and there is skating on the lake at Island Lake when conditions allow.
