Orangeville Town Hall & Opera House

Built in 1875, with the Opera House on the second floor. Fully restored in 1993 and renovated again in 2013 for accessibility and infrastructure.

At 273 seats, it’s small enough that every seat is an orchestra seat — there is no bad place to sit, which is not something you can say about many rooms. It’s managed by Theatre Orangeville on behalf of the Town, and also hosts the Dufferin Film Festival and Orangeville Music Theatre.

If accessibility matters to your visit, phone the box office. Published information on this venue contradicts itself — one Town page describes it as fully wheelchair accessible with a hearing system, while the venue’s own page says it is not, while also noting 40 removable and swing-out seats and accessible entrances on Broadway and Second Street. We can’t resolve that from the outside, and neither should you have to. Call and confirm rather than trusting any website, including this one.
